Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta
Welcome to the Fine Arts Study Program, Faculty of Visual Arts and Design, ISI Yogyakarta.
The Fine Arts Program is an academic space that combines tradition and innovation, as well as local wisdom in the global art discourse. Rooted in Indonesia's rich cultural heritage and shaped by historic contributions since the establishment of the Indonesian Academy of Fine Arts (ASRI) in 1950, the Fine Arts Program has played an important role in the development of modern and contemporary Indonesian art.
We offer a comprehensive education in three main disciplines: Painting, Sculpture, and Printmaking, which form the foundation of visual expression in art history. Two pillars of competence, Art Creation and Art Studies, form the basis of our graduates' scholarly and professional development.
The curriculum is designed to form graduates who are technically skilled and conceptually astute, while having social awareness, professional ethics, and Pancasila values. We emphasize critical thinking, interdisciplinary exploration, and creative independence that bridges studio practice with academic research.
Our students and faculty are active in various exhibition programs, residencies, community projects, and international collaborations. The program provides space and guidance that allows each individual to develop artistic vision, aesthetic depth, and the courage to explore artistic boundaries.
We have a vision to produce graduates who are not only competent and innovative, but also globally competitive, have a national cultural identity, and sensitivity to social issues. Fine Arts Study Program graduates have the opportunity to become artists, art reviewers, curators, researchers, and academics, as well as continue their studies to a higher level.
We believe that the Fine Arts Study Program is not just a place of learning, but a creative ecosystem that fosters artistic integrity, critical awareness, and real contributions to society.
Thank you for your trust. We welcome collaboration, participation, and exploration together for a transformative future of visual art.
